I’ve never tried therapy before — what should I expect? How does the process work?

Most people feel some nervousness about trying therapy for the first time. However, It has been our experience that once people begin the process, they find it to be helpful, comfortable, and something to look forward to.

All appointments last 50 minutes. In the first appointment, you will discuss with your therapist what brings you into therapy, what you are seeking help with, and what you hope to gain from the process. By the end of your first visit, you should feel heard and understood by your therapist, and should have an understanding of the goals you will be working on, and a general understanding of how together, you and your therapist will work towards those goals.

Your therapist will talk about and work on the things you wish to discuss, so it is helpful if you come to your sessions with some idea of what you would like to focus on and discuss with your therapist.

What is the cost of a session?

Our fee is $150.00/session. We are able to offer a reduced fee to those in need. This can be discussed individually with your therapist.

Will insurance pay for my sessions?

Our therapists are in-network providers for BCBS PPO, BCBS Blue Choice PPO and United Healthcare. If you have BCBS PPO, Blue Choice PPO or United Healthcare, then your sessions will be covered based on your benefits. Each person’s plan and benefits is different, so in order to determine your specific benefits, we provide you with an insurance benefit verification form to be used to contact your insurance provider and determine your benefits. It is your responsibility to complete this form before your first appointment so that you will know exactly what is covered by your insurance. We will submit claims to your insurance and bill you what is owed as determined by your specific plan benefits.

If you are covered by any other insurance, our therapists will be considered out-of-network providers. You may still use our insurance benefit verification form to determine if you have out-of-network benefits through your insurance provider. If you do have out-of-network benefits, we will submit claims to your insurance. You will be responsible for the full cost of the session minus any benefits paid by your insurance.

Where is your office located?

Our office is located at 4256 N. Ravenswood Ave., Suite 216 Chicago, IL 60613. There is ample, free parking in front of the building. The office is also easily accessible by public transportation. We are one block south of the Montrose stop on the Brown Line.
