Individual Therapy

What is Individual Therapy?

Seeking individual therapy is a sign of strength and a belief in and commitment to wellness and wholeness. We all can benefit from individual therapy - both in times of challenge and struggle and also to better know ourselves for our personal growth and development. Therapy is a hopeful process that is focused on strengths, solutions, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and our relationship to the various aspects of our lives.

How We Treat

Therapy with our clinicians is a collaborative process in which your needs and goals are defined and treatment is customized to address your specific concerns.  Our therapists are trained and skilled in a variety of evidence based models and utilize an integrative approach to customize your treatment.  Beyond the skill of what we do, we care equally about the skill of how we do it.  Our clinicians seek to form a warm, safe and inviting connection with you.  You are an equal part of the process and the strength of the relationship is key to our success.

“Change begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

Couples Therapy

What is Couples Therapy?

Couples can benefit from couples counseling to address challenges and stressors in their relationship as well as to strengthen a solid relationship foundation.  We work with couples to address specific skills, such as effective communication, and to help couples to understand the unique patterns and dynamics of their interactions with one another and to affect positive change within these patterns to create greater connection, safety and relationship satisfaction.  Couples therapy can help couples to better know and understand themselves and how they function within the relationship, to better know and understand their partner, to promote repair and healing, and to strengthen the relationship.  We also recognize that some couples come to therapy contemplating separation and divorce.  Couples therapy can help to provide clarity, understanding, and tools and skills for moving forward in the healthiest way possible for all involved should separation be the chosen path.

What We Treat

  • Communication skills

  • Relationship transitions

  • Conflict management/resolution

  • Infidelity/betrayal

  • Parenting stressors

  • Connection/intimacy issues

How We Treat

Our therapists are trained in a variety of couples therapy models including The Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Relational Life Model.  We believe that good couples therapy provides both skills that can be implemented outside of the therapy office and an understanding of the unique patterns and dynamics that each couple engages in and how to help couples to get “unstuck” and to develop more effective and satisfying ways of relating to one another.  Our therapists are active and engaged in the therapy process with couples and will tailor their treatment to the unique needs of each couple.
